Buttock Prostheses
Dr. Zirak uses the technique of implants placed intramuscularly as described by Dr. Raul Gonzalez. This technique, although more technically demanding, is the only surgical option that provides a lasting, stable, and extremely natural result with just one scar extending the intergluteal crease. The prostheses used are smooth to avoid the occurrence of capsular contracture.
The placement of subcutaneous prostheses should be avoided. Indeed, this technique results in the visibility and mobility of the prostheses in the long term due to tissue relaxation following the sectioning of fibrous septa necessary for implant placement.
Subfascial placement is also to be avoided due to the risks of implant visibility caused by tissue relaxation, inadequate detachment, or the occurrence of seroma causing an enlargement of the receiving pocket and consequently inadequate mobility of the prosthesis.
The operation is performed under outpatient disconnection or during a two-day hospitalization.
Moderate pain is reported for four to five days following the procedure. This pain is entirely manageable with prescribed painkillers. Redon drains are left in place for 48 hours. Stitches are removed after three weeks. A compression garment must be worn for six weeks. Mobilization should begin the day after the procedure to promote proper implant placement. Sports activities will only be allowed after six weeks.
