Banana Roll Correction

(or banana fold)

This double contour below the infragluteal fold results from the sagging of gluteo-trochanteric fat onto the thigh due to aging, significant weight loss, loss of muscle tone, or overly aggressive liposuction of the gluteo-trochanteric region.

Mild forms of banana roll can be corrected using a technique that combines very delicate liposuction of the medial and lower buttock regions as well as the banana roll, along with lipofilling of the infragluteal fold that has been previously detached.

More pronounced forms will be treated using the dermo-tuberosity fixation method, which involves fixing a dermo-fat flap to the ischial tuberosity and covering it with a cephalad buttock detachment area.

The procedure is performed under outpatient disconnection.

  • Post-operative pain is very moderate and lasts for two to three days after the operation.
