Post-Bariatric Surgery - The Buttocks

They lose their projection and sag. The treatment consists of a lift, either isolated or as part of a body lift or circular abdominoplasty.

This lift can be combined with buttock augmentation either through buttock implants or autologous fat injection.

The procedure is performed under general anesthesia during hospitalization. The surgery is not considered painful except in cases of volume augmentation with implants. Patients then describe a feeling of tightness in the buttocks.

The scars are placed at the edge of the buttocks, hidden by underwear. The final result is achieved after three to six months.

Sports activities are prohibited for six weeks. Intimate relations are allowed as soon as the patient is discharged from the hospital.

It should be noted that unlike a classic buttock volume augmentation, in the context of post-bariatric surgeries, a secondary tissue ptosis is systematically expected.
